Summary

Rapid Miniaturization, improved power consumption and easy interfacing via Bluetooth to cellphones have enabled the use of real-time, ubiquitous tracking of human body movements. Our research focuses on developing algorithms that use streaming inertial data either from a secondary sensor or from a mobile phone to derive meaningful metrics of activity from human motion. Possible applications include indoor localization and ubiquitous sedentary lifestyle tracking/calorie counting.
