There will be a single midterm in this class. The midterm is open book, open notes, in class. No final exam will be given. You will be expected to read and critique three or four research papers each week. Your summary and critique of each paper will be due, in hardcopy, in class each week. No late submissions will be entertained. During the semester, each student will be responsible for presenting (at least) one paper in class. You will be expected to work on a substantial project during the semester. Most projects will be team efforts. If you feel that your creativity demands solitary expression, come meet me in my office hour and convince me that you need to do an individual project.
